A GREAT WAY TO NETWORK WITH OTHER ARTISTS!!!!!!
The Official King Cat Music Songwriters Clinics are held to help songwriters improve their writing skills, find co writers, get feedback for their songs, and generally network with others in the songwriting and music industry. King Cat Music has a format that will be used with all King Cat Music songwriting groups all over. Look for one near you. Clinic guidelines
1. Must meet at the same place once a month.
2. Must meet for a full three hour period.
3. Must meet at the same time every month.
4. First 1/2 hour is a lesson by an invited clinician or someone in the group on an aspect of songwriting. (You can also use this time to extend the song critiques)
5. Next full hour are song critiques. A songwriter brings a CD or plays song live. Must bring multiple copies of the lyrics for group to look at while song is being presented. (Some groups have copy machines available)
6. Must use official song critique form to critique.
7. Next 1 1/2 hours spent on co writing. Break up into twos and threes. Must come up with a subject, audience, and some ideas. Newer writers can come up with a chorus first. Don't be pressured to write a whole song. Once you find a good group to write with then meet with that group each time until the song is completed.
